尚穆根今天(15日)在社交媒體上傳相關視頻時指出,他平時都會做各種各樣的運動,包括硬拉和負重步行等,而爬樓梯也是另一項他喜歡的運動。
「新加坡到處都有樓梯,任何人都可以爬樓梯,但請確保你有足夠的體力去做這項運動,不要用力過猛,要根據你目前的體能水平去做。」
尚穆根說,他都會到波納維斯達一帶的組屋挑戰爬樓梯,那一帶有兩座44層樓高和兩座40樓高的組屋。根據他的時間安排,他會挑戰一到四次。
視頻中的尚穆根同他的團隊幾人,到波納維斯達一座40層樓高的組屋挑戰爬樓梯,只見他扶著扶手大步往上爬。完成挑戰後,他微笑著靠在走廊牆壁上喘氣,看起來對成績相當滿意。
認為成績「還不錯」部長隨後在視頻中透露,他只花了大約7分30秒的時間就完成挑戰,並認為整體的成績「還不錯」。
他的保安人員Royston則在視頻中提到,尚穆根已有三年沒有挑戰爬樓梯,因此這樣的成績可算是非常好。
他也提到,尚穆根的最佳成績是不到6分45秒,並呼籲國人來挑戰部長的成績。
[Stairs Climbing] I do a variety of exercises, including dead lifts, walking (with some weights strapped on), X Trainer and so on. Stairs climbing is another exercise I like – and strongly recommend. A good cardio workout. There are stairs everywhere in Singapore - anyone can do this, but please make sure you are fit enough to do what you want to do. And don』t overexert. What you do will have to depend on your current fitness levels. For stair climbing, I go to Buona Vista, where there are two 44 storeys Blocks (and another two with 40 storeys). Depending on the time available, I will do anything between 1-4 sets. Some time ago, one of my assistants, and a few of my volunteers asked to join me in climbing the 44 storeys. Here is a video of the venture – we decided to have it filmed. One of my security officers, Royston, who is in the video, can run up the 44 storeys in about 5 mins (!). Havent done this in a while – will take it up again.
