小學，是孩子們成長過程中奠定基礎的教育階段。新加坡小學的生活是什麼樣的呢？不同學校的課程、活動是不是不一樣呢？怎麼幫孩子選擇適合的小學呢？
新加坡政府中小學採取的是大英國協的GCE（General Certificate of Education）教育體系，強調培養學生的自主學習，批判性思考。
小學階段會學習英語、母語、數學、美術、體育、德育、音樂，從小學三年級開始會加入科學。小學六年級結束，參加離校考試PSLE（Primary School Leaving Examination）。
課程體系是按照主課和副課進行分類，主課（英語、科學、數學、母語）是兩節課連上一個小時，副課（體育、音樂、美術等）30分鐘。
課外輔助課程（ Co-Curricular Activities，簡稱CCA）類似於國內的課外活動，但是其重要性卻遠遠大於課外活動或是社團。
CCA作為學生的課程之一，在新加坡政府中小學是非常重要的，放學後必須參加。此外，CCA的成績會影響學生的畢業成績。學生可以根據興趣和學術發展選擇參加一個或者多個CCA。
