迎接即將到來的農曆新年，新加坡本地公眾將可以從1月4日起開始上網預定新鈔和如新鈔，並從1月11日起領取所預定的新鈔。
新加坡金融管理局發表文告表示，60歲以上人士和殘疾人士也可以從當天起，到銀行換新鈔。公眾也可以從當天起，從星展銀行的臨時提款機和大華銀行的指定提款機，提取新鈔。
星展銀行在全國45個地點的64台指定提款機，提取新鈔和如新鈔，數量比去年多了三台。為避免長龍，使用提款機提取新鈔的時段也從18天增至21天。星展銀行的電子紅包，以及結合電子和實體紅包、讓客戶派發印有QR碼禮卡的QR紅包，使用率都在也都在去年農曆新年創下了新高，獨立用戶總數同比增長了74％。 其中，QR紅包的使用量大幅增長，去年農曆新年期間的交易金額達630萬元，高於前年的250萬元。
配合防疫安全管理措施，本地六家銀行將推出網上預約系統，讓傾向使用新鈔的公眾預定和領取新鈔。其中，公眾到星展、華僑、大華和渣打四家銀行分行換新鈔前，必須上網預約時段。馬來亞銀行和花旗銀行也推出預約換新鈔的服務。
當局也鼓勵國人使用電子紅包或如新鈔，以減少到銀行排隊換新鈔的人流量，同時也更環保。
