名為Marine Stewards的環境保護組織前天（18日）通過Facebook頁面發文透露，於當天下午在拉扎魯斯島的Eagles Bay發現兩隻海龜遭漁網捕獲。
該組織表示，幸好本地豪華遊艇租賃和包租公司Infinity Sails的工作人員在場，他們冒著雨伸出援手，順利將兩隻海龜救出，並轉交給關愛動物研究協會（ACRES）。
組織發布的視頻顯示，兩隻海龜被救到船上，其中一隻海龜的身體被漁網纏繞，兩名男子先後用刀子，將漁網割斷和解開。

不過，據組織了解，其中一隻海龜已經死亡。
組織也在帖文中指出，這是當天第二起事故。
另據本地媒體報道，當天還有一隻海龜和一隻藍斑條尾魟（blue-spotted ribbontail stingray）在拉扎魯斯島附近被漁網捕獲，兩名男子合力解救。
