國家公園局透過社媒頁面分享好消息，指出每年5月至10月，數隻雌性玳瑁海龜就會返回本地產卵。大約經過60天或兩個月時間的孵化期，玳瑁海龜寶寶就會破殼而出。
海龜寶寶破殼後返回大海之路並不容易，沿途面對被海鳥、螃蟹等動物捕食的風險，或者被光源吸引爬向錯誤的內陸方向。
對此，公園局的工作人員在海龜寶寶破殼而出後，為它們進行評估，然後目送它們安全返回大海。
我國的水域是瀕危的玳瑁海龜和綠海龜（Chelonia mydas）的家園，它們都是野生動物法令下的受保護物種，公眾不能私自收集海龜的蛋或幼龜。

Hawksbill Turtle hatchlings at East Coast ParkJust this morning, East Coast Park welcomed over 100 Hawksbill Turtle hatchlings which emerged and safely made their way to sea! From around May to October every year, a few female Hawksbill Turtles return to our shores to lay their eggs. These eggs can take up to 60 days or 2 months to incubate, resulting in this early festive miracle. Turtle hatchlings face many challenges when heading out to the open sea. This includes predation by shore birds and crabs or getting attracted to other light sources and crawling inland instead of heading out to sea. After the hatchlings emerged from the nest this morning, measurements of some of the baby turtles were taken by our conservation colleagues to determine the health of the clutch. Under their watchful eyes these hatchlings have made it safely towards the open waters. Singapore's waters are home to not one, but two species of marine turtles which include the critically endangered Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and the Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas). As protected species under the Wildlife Act, members of public are not permitted to collect any hatchlings or eggs. Doing so is an offence under the Wildlife Act.
